Have you been wondering how you can help our injured heroes? New and gently used pajamas, sweats and blankets are being collected for Americans wounded in Afghanistan. Patients are evacuated from Afghanistan in the middle of the night and endure a cold, loud, seven-hour flight. Most have had their clothes cut off when they arrive in the emergency room. A constant supply of comfortable clothing is essential to their comfort and recovery. Because so many people pass through, it is often difficult to keep clothing on the shelves. Donations help ensure no one goes without. They are requesting:
- Sweat pants (average size large)
- Socks
- Underwear
- Sweatshirts
- Blankets
- Monetary donations to cover shipping fees
Donations can be dropped off at the McConnell Flight Medicine Clinic with SrA Babicki or A1C Zimmerman. Call (316) 759-5116 for more information.
